Writing Productivity

Need help building the habits needed to write consistently? UGA offers a variety of programs designed to help writers be more productive, ranging from systems designed to help writers support each other to retreats granting designated time for writing.

Creating a Sustainable Writing Practice Program

Take your writing skills and habits to the next level. The Creating a Sustainable Writing Practice (CSWP) cohort program will focus on best practices in setting achievable goals, building low-stakes accountability, managing writing-related stress, and adopting other practices to establish or enrich a sustainable writing practice.

Instructional Team: This program is facilitated by Dr. Lindsey Harding and Dr. Sara Steger.

All faculty, regardless of track, level, or rank, are welcome. Preference will be given to those who have a writing “buddy” to provide mutual support for achieving your writing goals. Application deadline for the Fall cohort is mid-June. Application deadline for the spring cohort is mid-November. Learn more here.

Writing Retreats

At different points throughout the year, writing retreats are held to give undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty dedicated time to work on their writing projects. These retreats also offer the opportunity to meet with writing consultants and provide refreshments to make sure writers are focused and comfortable during the event.

News regarding when retreats will take place and how to register for them are often posted to our events page. Further information regarding writing retreats for Spring 2024 can be found here.
